In this episode, Bertrand Tillier, an art and heritage historian, reveals the secrets behind Martine Franck’s photograph “Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia, 1972.”
Between October and December 1972, Martine Franck produced an extensive photo essay on the Soviet Union, particularly in Moscow, where she took a series of photographs in museums and the Lenin Library.
Each episode of *Une image, des images* offers an expert the opportunity to trace the history of a unique image: a way to discover, through their perspective, the archives preserved by the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation and the photographic work of its two founders.
This program is produced with the generous support of the Franck family.
