Thursday 6 March, 2025
On the occasion of the release of his new album Le tact, the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson is delighted to welcome Joseph Schiano di Lombo for a presentation of his creation, in words and music.
The first steps of this album were taken on stage, during the 20ᵉ anniversary of the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in 2023 and on the occasion of the publication of the book Puis-je encore garder quelques secrets? (Atelier EXB, 2023), gathering unpublished interviews with Henri Cartier-Bresson. Inspired by the photographer’s words, Joseph Schiano di Lombo develops a musical work conceived as a posthumous conversation with Henri Cartier-Bresson, in which restraint and attention to reality echo the photographer’s work.
Between minimalism and freedom of exploration, Joseph composes pared-down themes that he unfolds with delicacy, alternating piano, guitar, synthesizer and clarinet. For the first time, he opens his composition to other performers he met during a residency organized by the Centre National de la Musique and the Goyki Art Inkubator in Sopot (Poland), enriching his universe with an unprecedented musical dialogue.
The evening will open with a conversation with Clément Chéroux, Director of the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, followed by a concert in which Joseph Schiano di Lombo will perform extracts from his new album Le tact, accompanied by Camille Delvecchio (harp) and Lydia Shelley (cello).
Paying admission. Tickets on sale at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson and online!
