In this episode, Clément Chéroux, director of the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, tells the story behind Martine Franck’s photograph Bibliothèque pour enfants, Clamart, 1965. Through this image, Clément Chéroux looks back at the early years of Martine Franck’s career and at the innovative architectural project of a “small round library.”
Each episode of Une image, des images gives a specialist the opportunity to retrace the history of a singular image — a way to discover, through their perspective, the archives preserved by the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation and the photographic work of its two founders. This program is produced with the generous support of the Franck family.
