First presented at the Fondation HCB from June 18th to September 29th 2019, the exhibition Wright Morris – L’essence du visible will be shown at the Foam in Amsterdam from January 24th to April 5th 2020.
A respected writer in the United States, the American Wright Morris (1910-1998) adopted an experimental approach to photography, seeking very early to “capture the essence of what is visible”. Following his first retrospective in France at the Fondation HCB, the Foam is offering a chance to share both his photographic and literary vision of America for the first time in the Netherlands. This exhibition includes prints, books and documents from the Collection of the Estate of Wright Morris in San Francisco.
