La Fondation HCB propose un cycle de conversations bimestrielles menées le mercredi en nocturne par Sam Stourdzé. Tour à tour, des connaisseurs réagissent sur des thèmes majeurs du débat sur le rôle de l’image ou la place de la photographie, invitant le public à participer à ces réflexions.

«  Portraits cachés du photographe »

Avec Gérard Macé, écrivain et photographe, ami proche d’Henri Cartier-Bresson, auteur notamment de La photographie sans appareil (2000), de Mirages et solitudes (2003), et de Illusions sur mesure (2004).

La Conversation sera menée par Sam Stourdzé, commissaire d’expositions, spécialiste de l’image, auteur de nombreux ouvrages sur la photographie. On lui doit, notamment, Chaplin et les images, la rétrospective Dorothea Lange ou l’exposition Tina Modotti et la renaissance mexicaine. Stourdzé est membre du conseil d’administration de la Société française de photographie.

Faithful to its original mission, the Foundation proposes  a cycle of lectures on photography led by Sam Stourdzé. Experts react on the art market, the institutions, the evolution of the medium itself, the (re)discovery of an author – inviting the audience to take part.

«  Hidden Portraits of the Photographer »

with Gérard Macé, writer, poet and photographer, author of several essays on photography. Macé was a close friend of Cartier-Bresson.

Sam Stourdzé is a curator and the author of many publications on photography. We owe him the "Charlie Chaplin et les images" exhibition at the Jeu de Paume. He is a member of the board of directors of the Société française de photographie.

La Fondation HCB est heureuse de vous inviter à l’exposition « Figures et portraits » au musée d’Orsay le vendredi 24 mars de 9h30 à 18h sur présentation de cette newsletter (entrée C accès prioritaire). L’exposition, consacrée à l’évolution de l’art du portrait dans la photographie internationale de 1850 à 1914, aura lieu du 7 mars au 4 juin dans la galerie de photographie du musée d’Orsay.

From January 18th to April 9th, 2006, the Foundation will show a selection of portraits made by Cartier-Bresson : The Inner Silence of a Willing Victim. The photographs exhibited come from the collection of the Foundation.

PROCHAINE EXPOSITION : "LES GENS DU RAVAL" PAR JOAN COLOM

Du 25 avril au 30 juillet, la Fondation HCB présentera pour la première fois en France le travail du photographe catalan Joan Colom sur les bas fonds de la Barcelone franquiste des années 1950.

From April 25th to July 30th, the Foundation will show, for the first time in France, the work of the Catalan photographer Joan Colom, street photographs of the 1950’s Barcelona.
